Sloan alumnus Gautam Gangoli joins LBS’s top team

LBS appoints a Chief Operating Officer to help drive forward strategy and growth

Global business leader and London Business School (LBS) alumnus Gautam Gangoli (SLN2019) has been appointed Chief Operating Officer (COO) of the School. Reporting directly to Dean Sergei Guriev, he will be responsible for effective and efficient leadership and management of most of the School’s non-academic operations.

A Sloan Fellow with a Masters in Leadership and Strategy from LBS, Gautam brings with him 25 years’ experience of business and leadership, gained working for multinationals, SMEs and purpose-led startups. He has held senior leadership roles across Europe, APAC, and the US at companies including Bacardi, Diageo, Beiersdorf, and Gtech.

Commenting on the appointment, Dean Guriev said:

“Gautam has deep expertise in organisational design, go-to-market strategy, and leading cross-cultural teams through change. He combines global business acumen with a belief in long-term impact and human-centred leadership. His leadership style is inclusive, thoughtful, and outcome-driven – known for aligning strategy, people, processes, and purpose. In the capacity of COO, Gautam will play a key role in driving forward LBS’s strategy and our next phase of growth and impact.”

Speaking about his excitement about joining the School in a leadership role, Gautam commented:
