LBS strategy expert wins sustainability scholar award
A London Business School strategy expert has been selected as the co-winner of the ARCS 2016 Emerging Sustainability Scholar Award.
Ioannis Ioannou, Associate Professor of Strategy and Entrepreneurship, London Business School, has been awarded the ARCS Emerging Sustainability Scholar Award. The award was conferred at the 8th Annual ARCS Research Conference, held at the Leeds School of Business, University of Colorado, in recognition of Dr Ioannou’s work in the area of corporate sustainability.
Dr Ioannou says: “I am both thrilled as well as thankful to ARCS, the leading community of sustainability scholars globally, for honoring me with the Emerging Scholar Award.
“There is no doubt that a lot more scholarly work needs to take place in order for us to truly understand the complex and multifaceted sustainability challenges with which modern corporations, and indeed society at large, are faced on a daily basis. This award is not only a recognition of my work to date, but importantly, it is a true encouragement and motivation to continue doing more rigorous and ambitious research in this domain.”
The ARCS Emerging Sustainability Scholar Award recognises a scholar in the area of corporate sustainability who is likely to make significant contributions to the advancement of corporate sustainability scholarship.
Dr Ioannou’s research focuses on sustainability and corporate social responsibility (CSR). More specifically, Dr Ioannou seeks to understand whether, how, and the extent to which, the modern business organisation contributes towards building a sustainable future.
Dr Ioannou was selected for the award by an ARCS selection committee, based on his rigorous and salient contribution to corporate sustainability which crosses disciplinary and national boundaries.
