Enterprise leaders and alumni from some of the world’s leading companies gathered at London Business School (23–24 April) to celebrate the 30th anniversary of the Global Business Consortium (GBC), a flagship executive education programme designed to develop high-impact enterprise leaders.

Over two days, GBC participants from organisations including, Emirates, Oracle, Nokia, Save The Children, DP World and NKT reflected on the programme’s legacy and its relevance in preparing senior executives, to lead in an increasingly complex and uncertain global environment. The GBC programme focused on enabling leaders to create, capture and sustain organisational value, while driving meaningful change within their organisations.

The anniversary event brought together cohort members and alumni, reinforcing GBC’s central mission: accelerating the development of leaders who not only run businesses, but transform them. A defining feature of the programme is its cross-industry collaboration, where participants work alongside peers from diverse sectors to exchange perspectives and co-create solutions to complex business challenges.

The event featured engaging sessions led by Professors Dan Cable and Costas Markides, Adjunct Associate Professor Kanishka Bhattacharya. LBS’ Dean, Sergei Guriev and Professor Lynda Gratton also delivered insightful keynote addresses.

Reflecting on the milestone, Helen Kerkentzes, Associate Dean of Executive Education, London Business School, said, “GBC is a truly unique programme owned and shaped by the members of the consortium. While the experiences and learning on the programme has evolved over the years, its intent - to bring together business leaders from across industries, to challenge assumptions and think beyond traditional boundaries - remains the same. That diversity of perspective is what enables participants to build a more expansive and inclusive view of global business and to realise profound impact on personal, organisational and regional levels.”

The 30th anniversary of LBS’ Global Business Consortium underscored a clear message: tomorrow’s enterprise leaders must be globally minded, adaptable and ready to redefine the context in which business operates.
