Clear Admit shines a spotlight on LBS MBA students
Six students from LBS’s latest MBA intake reveal what drew them to LBS and their hopes for the future

London Business School MBA Class of 2028 students Ellen Ehrnrooth, Sofia Castillo Guerrero, Charles Jennison, Nicolas Lozano Landinez, Eva Stewart and Karan Vir Malhotra have been profiled by Clear Admit in its Real Humans: MBA Students series.
Ellen, a dual citizen of Finland and the USA, who was born and raised in London in a Swedish-speaking household, has opted to do an MBA to see what other skills she might have beyond public policy analysis with a view to diversifying her future path.
Sofia from Colombia was motivated to do an MBA as the leaders she admired at work all had one thing in common: an MBA. She’s looking to broaden her perspective and discover possibilities beyond retail. She chose LBS for the diversity of the class.
Charles, from New Zealand, is keen to develop his management and strategy skills for the next stage of his career. He was attracted to LBS by its London location and how highly LBS alumni speak about their experience.
Colombian Nicolas, who was raised in Florida in the USA, spent 8 years in the US army before joining LBS. He’s looking to move into defence technology investing and was also attracted by the London location and international aspect of the LBS MBA.
Eva, from Western Australia, wants to move into an executive leadership role in the mining industry and serve as a role model for people coming up through that industry. She brings unique insight as a young, Indigenous woman in a male-dominated industry.
Kuwaiti Karan sees business school as an opportunity to broaden his perspective and leadership style before returning to the family office to, amongst other things, develop his own investment track record across public and private markets.
Three key pieces of advice for prospective students:
Be personal in your essays. Expressing your own story and opinion will make you stand out more
Have candid conversations with alumni as their insights into the classroom, careers, clubs, etc. will paint a rich picture of the communities you are hoping to join. Visit campus if you can
