Philipp Middendorf

Education: Bachelors, Technical University of Munich, Germany; graduated in 2026

Subject: Business Administration/Management with a minor in Chemistry

Sector(s) of interest: Strategy Consulting

My greatest challenge when I applied to business school: Doing thorough research and really understanding which programme and university are the right fit.

About me: I am from Munich, Germany, where I studied management and technology at the Technical University of Munich, specialising in chemistry, before joining the GMiM at London Business School.

During my undergraduate degree, I completed an exchange semester at UC San Diego in the US, and a research stay at the University of Cambridge in the UK, focusing on university investment vehicles and technology transfer. Alongside my studies, I co-founded Bolivia’s first student consultancy in La Paz, where I spent several months on site supporting its establishment and led the corporate relations department.

Professionally, I have gained experience in strategy consulting through various internships, most recently at Roland Berger and BCG, where I worked on projects in the chemicals and life sciences sector, focusing on strategy, transformation and performance improvement.

I joined London Business School to strengthen my business foundations and learn from a truly international community. This is also why I chose the GMiM programme, which includes a year abroad at Fudan University in China.

Outside of my studies, I enjoy hiking and skiing in the mountains, rowing and going to the gym. I also love travelling and discovering new countries and cultures.

Three topics I can be approached about: Applications; consulting internships; student clubs.
