My greatest challenge when I applied to business school: Dealing with setbacks and uncertainty while staying focused; learning that setbacks can sometimes lead to even better opportunities.
About me: I’m Munther, originally from Oman. I moved to the UK to study economics and finance at the University of Leeds, where I graduated with first-class honours. Moving away from home and studying in such an international environment was a big part of my personal development. Ultimately, it was one of the reasons I wanted to continue my journey in London at London Business School.
Before joining London Business School, I gained experience across different areas of finance, including roles at Arab Invest, the Oman Investment Authority and GFH Financial Group. I’ve had the opportunity to work across both public and private markets, which has shaped my interest in investment management and the decisions behind where capital is invested. I hope to use my time at London Business School as a foundation for a long-term career in finance.
Outside of academics and work, leadership has always been important to me. I served as head boy at school and have always enjoyed being involved in the communities around me, whether through volunteering, university societies or simply meeting and learning from new people. One of my favourite things about London Business School so far is meeting people from all over the world, each bringing a different perspective and something new to learn from.
When I’m not studying or talking about finance, you’ll probably find me at the gym, watching football, travelling or trying out new places around London. As a student ambassador, I’m always happy to speak to prospective students about my experience and hopefully make the application process a little less daunting!
Three topics I can be approached about: Life at London Business School; finance in the Middle East; CFA alongside university.
