My greatest challenge when I applied to business school: I second-guessed myself and compared myself to my peers, thinking that because they had already found jobs and I hadn’t, I wasn’t good enough. But, I came to realise that business school offers so many opportunities and opens doors to incredible networks
About me: I’m a MiM student at London Business School, originally from Hong Kong. I graduated from Brown University in the US, double concentrating in business economics and art history. I took a gap year before starting the MiM programme, during which I interned at LGT Capital Partners in Hong Kong on the Asia private equity fund-of-funds team, conducting due diligence across Asian venture capital and private equity managers.
At Brown University, I was president of the Hong Kong Student Association, where I organised events like dumpling-making workshops and cross-cultural collaborations. I also mentored local high school students on entrepreneurship, helping them develop and pitch their own business ideas.
Before committing to London Business School, I reached out to several student ambassadors to ask about their experiences. Their generosity with time and candour made a real difference to my decision to come here, down to details I wouldn’t have found on the website. I wanted to become a student ambassador myself so I can offer that same support to prospective students.
Looking ahead, I’m hoping to build a career in finance, either in global markets or asset management. Outside of that, I love restaurant and café hopping, do Pilates regularly, and I’m also into tennis and painting.
Three topics I can be approached about: Taking a gap year before London Business School; deciding which sector to apply for in finance; food/places to go explore in London.
