My greatest challenge when I applied to business school: Articulating exactly how going to business school would advance my career goals.
About me: As someone who has never lived outside Southern California, my decision to pursue postgraduate study in London was motivated by both professional aspirations and a desire for personal growth. Prior to LBS, I studied Maths and Economics at UCLA before starting my career as a Business Analyst at a clothing manufacturing company based in Los Angeles. There, I saw first- hand how important good data is when making business decisions and how a lack of data can lead to unnecessary losses. This inspired me to pursue a masters that would teach business fundamentals along with technical data skills, enabling me to approach difficult problems with a more rigorous perspective. I am especially interested in the intersection of fashion, data and sustainability, which is why I am exploring analytical roles within the retail and luxury sector.
I chose the MAM programme at LBS because I wanted a programme that would provide strong career support, excellent academics and fulfilling social experiences outside of the classroom. Those social experiences include dancing, live music events and seeking out London’s best pastries. I would be happy to connect with any prospective students who are interested in learning more about LBS!
Three topics I can be approached about: LBS student culture; jobs in the UK versus US; application advice.
