My greatest challenge when I applied to business school: Choosing a business school over a purely technical programme, and learning to balance the value of networks alongside hard skills.

About me: I’m from Dalian, a coastal city in north east China, and studied economics at the University of Nottingham Ningbo China.

My interest in analytics took shape during a data and policy programme at the University of Chicago, where I met the idea that ‘there’s a life behind every data point’. Since then, I’ve followed that thread through consulting, research and data analysis internships, always asking how numbers can carry the weight of a real decision.

I chose London Business School’s MAM programme because it brings analytical depth and real business practice together in one of the most international communities I could find. Right now, I’m exploring careers in consulting, data science and other data-oriented roles where analytical thinking meets business problem solving.

Beyond the classroom, I’ve spent a semester on exchange in Sydney, Australia, volunteered in Fiji and Costa Rica, and represented my undergraduate cohort as graduation speaker. Each of those chapters sharpened my curiosity, adaptability and love of meeting people who don’t think the way I do.

Outside academics, I read science fiction and neuroscience books, play tennis and chase the water through surfing and scuba diving. I also love visiting museums, spending slow time in nature and catching up with friends over coffee or a drink. I’m always happy to chat online or meet prospective students in person!

Three topics I can be approached about: Application advice; choosing London Business School and the MAM programme; student life in London and studying abroad.
