My greatest challenge when I applied to business school: Preparing for the GMAT with very little time left. I was mid-exams and had around two weeks to prepare.

About me: I started my first company aged 14 or 15. I remember the thrill of the first sale, carrying parcels under my arms to the shipping depot, and late school nights spent cleaning databases and doing admin with Spotify Radio playing from my phone. Business seemed the natural direction, even if I did not always know where it would lead. That path took me from leading global data projects across almost 40 national subsidiaries to leadership roles in product and sales, and later to investing across venture capital and private equity.

Over time, however, I began to miss the technical side of my upbringing. I grew up in an engineering household, surrounded by site visits, data and mathematics. I had always loved tinkering, solving puzzles and reading widely. That curiosity eventually drew me back to robotics and machine learning research using multispectral satellite imagery at the Technical University of Munich’s Department of Aerospace.

Being on the GMiM at London Business School and in London has made these seemingly different interests feel far less contradictory. Few cities bring together such a dense mix of universities, technical talent, investors and people with unusually broad interests. There is room here for almost everything. If you are considering London Business School but are wondering whether your background or ambitions fit neatly into one box, please reach out. I would be glad to help however I can.

Three topics I can be approached about: Founder-network; startup advice; applications advice.
