My greatest challenge when I applied to business school: Not knowing whether artificial intelligence (AI) could replace the experience and knowledge I could get from business school.
About me: I am originally from India but grew up in Kuwait. As a third culture kid, I developed the ability to connect with people from different backgrounds at an early age through a variety of creative hobbies. This helped me realise my enthusiasm for marketing – where the craft lies in making something land with people. What pulled me toward analytics was a discomfort with how few of those creative decisions were ever held accountable to evidence.
I studied at Babson College in Boston, US, before joining Wayfair, where I owned online video channels. Most of my work involved making sense of ambiguous data and turning it into something a brand or finance team could actually understand and act on. I had the privilege of working in Wayfair’s Boston headquarters before moving to its London office, gaining experience across different markets and ways of working.
I joined the MAM programme to build on that instinct: to move from executing the analysis to leading the decisions it informs – particularly for businesses trying to understand and reach the people they serve, across all facets of a business – with the hope of starting my own endeavour soon.
Three topics I can be approached about: Applying for jobs/internships as an international student; building connections across different cultures; becoming an extrovert as an introvert.
