My greatest challenge when I applied to business school: Getting through the interview phase – I was super stressed.
About me: I’m Ali, an MFA student at London Business School who seems unable to stay in the same city: Casablanca, Paris, Turin, Madrid, London. Fun fact: I am Moroccan but I have never (yet) ridden a camel and I don’t know how to cook a single tajine.
By day, I build discounted cash flow (DCF) models and draft confidential information memoranda (CIMs). By night, I’m training for my hot air balloon pilot licence, which is either the most random thing on a banker’s CV or the best icebreaker in any interview room. I once launched an online jewellery brand – dropshipping, why not? I’m former president of the first investment fund at ESCP, red hold indoor climber, quadrilingual and apparently allergic to free time.
I’m studying the MFA programme at London Business School and am looking to do in investment banking what I do in climbing: find the most efficient route up, without (too much) falling off.
Three topics I can be approached about: ANYTHING. I love contact with people – really, please reach out to me for anything, I always love to help!
