Dr Toby Velte's research examines how frontier artificial intelligence capabilities reshape enterprise value creation, strategy, operating models, and governance. His work explores AI's transformative impact across strategy, marketing, and organisational structures, investigating industry disruption, strategic implications, innovation, adoption strategies, and emerging trends. He also examines system-level risks, alignment, oversight, and leadership preparedness for Artificial General and Super Intelligence, with particular focus on Financial Services, Manufacturing, Retail, and Healthcare sectors.

As a Teaching Fellow of Management Science and Operations at London Business School, Velte frequently serves as a guest lecturer for degree programmes and is actively involved in developing and delivering new courses on AI for Business within the Executive Education programme. His teaching draws on extensive practical experience in AI transformation and implementation.

Velte is an AI entrepreneur and founder of Spike AI, where he leads a multidisciplinary team developing multimodal integration frameworks for Agentic AI systems. He previously held senior leadership roles at Google, Amazon (AWS), and Microsoft, where he expanded teams from single members to over 1,000 employees. His expertise spans AI-powered robotics transformation, applied AI models for elite sports performance, and business model transformation using AI and cloud computing. Velte is a prolific writer, contributing to Harvard Business Review, Think, and other publications, and has authored 16 best-selling technology books published by McGraw-Hill. He also serves as AI editor for McGraw-Hill publishing and is Co-Board Chairman of the Oxford AI for Business Alumni Association.
