Dr Helen Wang's research interests focus on the intersection of empirical operations management, business analytics, and applied microeconomics. Her work spans various domains including public sector operations, education, childcare, and service operations, utilising data-driven methods such as causal inference, field experiments, applied machine learning, and natural language processing.

Her recent work concentrates on identifying and addressing inefficiencies and disparities in education technology, artificial intelligence in education, and child welfare systems, aiming to enhance the wellbeing of the younger generation. Her research has been published in flagship academic journals such as Manufacturing & Service Operations Management and The Antitrust Bulletin.

Wang brings extensive experience in collaborative research, having worked closely with universities, educational for-profits and non-profits, and child welfare alliances. She has provided consulting services to companies in the education, EdTech, and blockchain sectors. Wang began her academic career with a BA in Economics from Fudan University in China, followed by a PhD in Business Economics from the Ross School of Business, University of Michigan, before joining London Business School as an Assistant Professor of Management Science and Operations.
