November 2025
After almost 20 years in London as an expat, I am still adamant about celebrating Thanksgiving today. It is a wonderful day to practice gratitude and acknowledge the good fortune and kindness that has come our way. I had the privilege of listening to Halla Tómasdóttir, President of Iceland, on campus last week. Her comments about the responsibilities we have as Companies, Governments and Citizens, and the need for systemic change really resonated with me.
Looking ahead, I’m excited to share that our Alumni Reunion in Dubai returns on Saturday 31 January 2026, with a full day of learning, connection and celebration. The day before, 30 January, we’ll also host our Middle East Conference, exploring the region’s rapidly evolving global role. I’m delighted to be joining both events, along with Dean Sergei Guriev, Associate Dean of Advancement Emily A. Robin and assorted faculty, and I hope to see many of you there.
In London, we’ll soon be welcoming alumni for our joint LBS–Wharton event, the role of human capital in the age of genAI, on 11 December. This won’t be about whether AI is transformative; it will be about what will remain distinctly, irreplaceably human.
And as we edge into the festive season, the School’s 17th annual Toy Drive is underway, a much-loved tradition that supports children and families near campus. This year, we’re aiming for 500 toys, and every single donation helps make the season a little brighter. Find out more here.
There is much more to read below. Thank you all for taking the time and for each of your unique contributions to our LBS community.
Warm wishes,

Ramsey Sargent EMBAG2005
