Pre-programme
September 2018 onwards

Pre-programme tasks to help your transition from working life into a study environment.

Early Enrolment Fair
14 December 2018

Enrol early for the programme and save time in January.

The Early Enrolment Fair will provide you with the opportunity to complete the formal registration process, collect formal letters and textbooks, pick up your Student ID card, take a tour of the LBS campus, receive help with IT matters, attend a Canvas tutorial, and meet members of your Sloan 2019 class and the Sloan Programme Office team.

 

Orientation Week
7 - 11 January 2019 

Orientation begins with briefing sessions and introductions.

As part of Orientation, the Executive Leadership core course challenges you to work closely within a study group to enhance your understanding of group dynamics and your own role as both a leader, and a member of a team.

Team Building activities will be built into the Orientation Week schedule, and they are a great opportunity to help accelerate class bonding and cohesion in a fun environment.

OneTERM 1: Spring Term
14 January - 22 March 2019

During Term 1, the following core courses are taught:


  • Biography

  • Executive Leadership (during Orientation Week)

  • The Global Corporate Agenda

  • Leading People and Organisations

  • Leading the Market-Driven Organisation

  • •Strategy

  • •Understanding Top Management

  • Accounting Part 1


Classes are typically scheduled between 08:15 and 18:45 during the week. There are usually six sessions per week, each lasting 2 hours 45 mins. Term 1 is very busy, and you also need to set aside plenty of time for skills sessions, private study, study group meetings, careers events, guest speaker and club events.

At the start of Term 1, you begin the process of selecting elective courses from the LBS elective portfolio.

Optional Elective Block Weeks
1 April - 19 April 2019


You can choose to take elective block weeks or take a break from studying.

TwoTERM 2: Summer Term
22 April - 5 July 2019

Optional Elective Block Week
Week 27 May - 31 May 2019

The Summer Term is a combination of core courses and optional electives. The following core courses are taught:


  • Biography

  • Corporate Finance

  • Accounting Part 2

  • Strategy

Global Business Assignment

Select your destination preferences for your week-long Global Business Assignment.

ThreeTERM 3: Autumn Term

16 September – 29 November 2019

You return in the Autumn to complete your final core course - Corporate Governance and Stakeholder Relations.


You also have access to elective courses which run during the Autumn term, and Sloan can access the block week which runs 6 – 10 January 2020.

Capstone
End of Nov/Beginning of Dec 2019


Capstone is the finalé of your Sloan Programme and the last time that you will be altogether as a class before Congregation in July 2020. The theme of Capstone is celebration and reflection.

Exam Board
February / March 2020


The Board of Examiners meet to review the academic performance of all students and to validate and approve the award of your degree.

Congregation
July 2020

Following your Congregation ceremony at the Royal Festival Hall, celebrate your success on the Sloan programme with a glass of champagne at the garden party on the front lawn at LBS.
