Jacob Xiangyu JIN

Jacob joined London Business School as a PhD student in Management Science and Operations in 2024. He holds a B.A. in Business Data Science with minors in Computer Science and Economics from Antai College of Economics and Management at Shanghai Jiao Tong University. Prior to joining LBS, he pursued a PhD in Decisions, Operations, and Technology Management at UCLA Anderson School of Management, but left due to visa issues. He also worked as a full-time research assistant in Operations at Singapore Management University, where he collaborated with a vibrant and supportive academic group.

Jacob’s current research interests focus on the intersection of Economics and Data Science, with a particular interest in their applications to technology innovation and digital platform governance. One of his ongoing research explorations focuses on the innovative, effective, and responsible deployment of AI in the education system, including both K–12 and higher education contexts.

Based on his and his friends' personal experiences, Jacob deeply understands the challenges that underrepresented students face in accessing academic opportunities.
