Vig takes home 4nations cup

1431Vikrant Vig, Associate Professor of Finance at London Business School, has won an international finance competition, the 4nations Cup.

Along with Georgy Chabakauri of London School of Economics, Vikrant represented the UK in the competition at Amsterdam’s Duisenberg School of Finance against six other candidates from three other nations.

Each candidate presented their research before a scientific committee whose members are affiliated with universities in participating countries. Vikrant presented his research on ’Cultural Proximity and Loan Outcomes’.

This was the first year of the annual 4nation’s cup finance competition. In a similar spirit to the sports tournaments, academic institutions have come together to run a four nations finance seminar competition, where nominated professors, within five years of completing their PhDs, compete against each other in front of an academic audience for the best paper award. Academics came from Germany, France, Netherlands and the UK and each nation nominates two lead candidates to attend the conference
