Treeapp plants over six million trees
Six million trees planted – the equivalent of filling Hyde Park 28 times

Treeapp, the award-winning B Corp founded by London Business School alumni Jules Buker and Godefroy Harito, has reached a major milestone: more than six million trees planted across 20 countries. This scale of reforestation makes Treeapp one of the UK’s most significant drivers of global climate action.
Treeapp turns climate awareness into tangible results. Through its mobile app, anyone can plant trees for free in under a minute by simply watching ads. What sets it apart is the gamification: users build streaks, climb leaderboards, and track their personal impact in real time. This competitive, social and rewarding experience has already driven more than 250,000 downloads across the UK and Ireland – making climate action engaging, measurable and habit-forming.
The organisation also partners with over 1,500 businesses, including the Ministry of Justice, The Economist, Bupa and Marriott, integrating tree planting directly into business models.
What do six million trees mean in practice?
654,000 tonnes of CO₂ absorbed over their lifetimes – equivalent to almost one million London–New York flights
60,000 fair-wage workdays created worldwide
4,002 hectares of land reforested
Or put another way:
More than one tree for every person in Scotland
Covering 8,711 football pitches
Filling Hyde Park 28 times
Closer to home Treeapp is strengthening its UK presence, with nearly 100 planting sites established nationwide. With tree planting season about to begin, now is the perfect time for businesses and individuals to contribute locally. Each site features a diverse mix of native and non-invasive species, boosting biodiversity, supporting wildlife and creating more resilient landscapes.
Beyond the trees Every Treeapp project aligns with the UN Sustainable Development Goals – from protecting marine ecosystems in Indonesia to supporting women’s economic empowerment in Ethiopia. The results show that reforestation delivers lasting value for both people and the planet.
“Six million trees is proof that collective action works,” said co-founders Buker and Harito. “From individuals planting through our app to global brands creating forests, these milestones show what’s possible. And we’re only just getting started.”
