Treeapp, the innovative mobile app that lets users plant trees for free, is launching in France, bringing a fresh, gamified approach to sustainability. By transforming everyday digital interactions into reforestation efforts, Treeapp removes common barriers to climate action, such as: cost, time, and lack of know-how. With more 250,000 downloads in the UK and Ireland, Treeapp makes it easy for anyone to contribute to a greener planet.

Founded by French entrepreneurs and London Business School alumni, Jules Buker (LBS MiM 2018) and Godefroy Harito (LBS MiM 2018), Treeapp has already planted more than 5m trees across 20 countries. Now, with its expansion into France, the app is set to revolutionise the way individuals engage with climate action - turning sustainability into an accessible, rewarding, and even competitive experience. Features like streaks, leaderboards, and impact tracking motivate users to form the habit of planting trees daily.

Why It Matters

  • Breaking Barriers to Climate Action: Many people want to help the environment but struggle with financial constraints, time commitments, or knowing where to start. Treeapp eliminates these barriers by offering a simple, free way to take impactful climate action every day.

  • Gamification for Engagement: Treeapp’s interactive features keep sustainability exciting, allowing users to track their personal impact, maintain streaks, and compete to become top contributors to reforestation in France.

  • Supporting France’s Green Tech Future: As the country pushes for carbon neutrality by 2050, Treeapp offers a tech-driven solution that allows individuals to directly support national climate goals.

  • Creating Global & Local Impact: Beyond planting trees, Treeapp funds reforestation projects that create jobs for local communities worldwide, ensuring social and environmental benefits go hand in hand.

“We’re thrilled to bring Treeapp to our home country, it’s about time…” said Jules Buker, co-founder of Treeapp. “Forests are essential to our survival on Earth; we’re excited to invite the French public to join us in contributing to reforestation.”
