LBS to develop Oman's energy and finance leaders
Executive Education programmes with Petroleum Development Oman (PDO) and National Bank of Oman (NBO) will significantly enhance Oman’s talent pipeline
London Business School has announced it will deliver its globally renowned Executive Education programmes to leaders in the finance and energy sectors working in two of Oman's major companies.
Petroleum Development Oman (PDO) and the National Bank of Oman (NBO) have enlisted London Business School to deliver executive education and leadership development to their mid to senior leaders.
The School will continue to deliver its ‘Essentials of Leadership’ open programme to PDO, whilst NBO will collaborate with London Business School on a custom Executive Education programme. The programmes will see London Business School’s world-class faculty deliver the intensive courses in London and Muscat which examine the challenges and successes leaders face in day-to-day management.
Rahul Dhadphale, Regional Director, Middle East, London Business School, said:
“London Business School’s partnerships with PDO and NBO shine a light on Oman’s enormous talent resource and its ambition to build its leadership pipeline. We are looking forward to working together towards fostering a new generation of business leaders that will continue to propel the Sultanate along impressive growth in the energy and financial spheres.
“The partnership with NBO, together with our partnership with PDO which began four years ago, will solidify London Business School’s presence in the Middle East and continue the work we have undertaken over a number of years now with several of Oman’s leading companies.”
PDO, an exploration and production company with more than 6,000 employees, will work with London Business School to nurture PDO’s leadership and talent to become high-performance individuals and champions of innovation.
Shabir Hussain, Talent Management, Omanisation and Recruitment Manager at PDO, said:
“We value our partnership with London Business School, which complements the leadership curriculum we offer to our staff at PDO. Leadership development is very important to us to ensure we build the right leadership competence we need for the future.”
The custom programme with National Bank of Oman (NBO), which currently has 54 branches across the Sultanate, will address the key needs of the organisation and deliver an innovative programme that specifically addresses NBO’s objectives.
The intensive programme focuses on helping delegates to understand their current leadership strengths and opportunities whilst providing guidance on how to lead with confidence and certainty.
The School, which is regularly ranked amongst the best business schools in the world, is already an established name in business education in the Middle East, having set up a centre in Dubai seven years ago and is working with several of the largest companies in the region.
The programmes will be taught by the School’s world-leading academics, including Professors in Organisational Behaviour Madan Pillutla, Nigel Nicholson, Dan Cable and Randall Peterson; Associate Professor of Organisational Behaviour, Niro Sivanathan and Adjunct Professor of Strategy and Entrepreneurship, Marcus Alexander.
