London Business School makes top 100 in THE World Reputation Rankings

London Business School has been ranked in the top 100 most powerful global university brands by the Times Higher Education World Rankings 2015.

For the second year running, London Business School has been placed in the top 100 universities, as voted for by senior academics from across the world. The ranking is the world’s largest survey of senior academics.
Andrew Scott, Deputy Dean (Degree Programmes) and Professor of Economics, London Business School, says: “For a School based on research and global impact it is exciting to see us ranked so highly in this global exercise. We are used to appearing at the very top of business school rankings but to be the only standalone business school ranked amongst the top 100 universities worldwide is an enormous compliment.”

Phil Baty, editor of the Times Higher Education World University Rankings said: “These tables are based purely on subjective opinion, but it is the informed opinion of those who know most about excellence in teaching and research: academics themselves. And while hard, objective indicators proliferate in today’s competitive global academy, how a university is subjectively perceived by the academic community, how it stands up to its peers in reputation terms, is highly significant, too.

“A strong reputation not only indicates current success but also drives future fortune. It helps universities to draw in investment and raise philanthropic funds. Perhaps most importantly, it helps attract the best students and scholars.”

The World Reputation Rankings were conducted by an invitation-only survey, distributed in partnership with Elsevier, in 15 languages. The survey attracted a total of 10,507 responses from 142 countries. Respondents were all senior, published scholars, and reported an average of more than 15 years working in higher education and research. The survey data collected will also make up two of the 13 largely objective indicators used to create the World University Rankings 2015-2016, which will be published on 1 October 2015 at the World Academic Summit.
