LBS offers women's scholarship on flagship programme

women in leadership

The 30% Club and London Business School (LBS) has joined forces to give more women the tools to achieve CEO and C-Suite positions by offering a scholarship for the School’s highly rated Senior Executive Programme (SEP). The scholarship is for women with around 15 years of managerial experience who should already be in senior positions in large organisations.

Worth over £34,000, this four-week general management programme supports executives in developing a diverse range of strong leadership skills. The course is designed to help individuals further advance their career, helping them to potentially join the Executive Committee and, hopefully, take a CEO position in a FTSE 250 company or equivalent. However, delegates may currently be a few levels below such positions.

Applicants for the scholarship should be nominated by their employer. The deadline for applications is 28 September 2018, for entry in 2019.

The scholarship affords full participation in experiential activities, lectures, group work and discovery visits. It also includes one-to-one coaching, a personalised development plan, accommodation and brings access to executive coaching during and after the programme.

The SEP is one of the School’s most established and highly-rated courses, consistently achieving 4.5 out of 5 from previous participants.

Delegates are taught by LBS’s world-renowned academics as well as industry experts who come from business and the public sector. Earlier this year, the School was ranked fourth globally by the Financial Times in its annual analysis of Executive Education, which assesses the world’s top 90 business schools according to 30 different criteria.

Julian Birkinshaw, Deputy Dean of Executive Education at LBS,  said: “We are delighted to work with the 30% Club for the fifth consecutive year on this initiative, to help organisations develop their female executive talent and to contribute to increasing the number of women reaching senior positions.”

On completion of this general management programme, participants become part of LBS’s Executive Education Alumni community, a global network of more than 17,000 successful business leaders in 150 countries.

Previous scholarship recipients include Andreea Moldovan, General Manager, Czech & Slovakia at Avon, as well as Maria Angelova, General Manager Central Europe at JAFRA Cosmetics.
