LBS students share their secrets to MBA success

Poets & Quants student columnists Divya Chaurasia and Kunaal Kankate offer insights into MBA life at LBS

London Business School MBA students and Poets & Quants student columnists Kunaal Kankate and Divya Chaurasia

London Business School students Divya Chaurasia and Kunaal Kankate have written of their experiences studying for a Masters in Business Administration (MBA) recently, providing useful insights for anyone considering sharpening their skills with an MBA.

First-year MBA student Kunaal highlights in the importance of learning to prioritise in his recently published column for Poets & Quants (P&Q). Not having anticipated how multidimensional the experience of studying for an MBA would be, Kunaal quickly found that ‘Business school gives you access to more than you can possibly take on.’ His solution? To become more deliberate with how he uses his time.

‘I’ve stepped back from trying to do it all and began focusing on the opportunities that genuinely energised me, working with high-growth businesses, building meaningful connections, and learning from experiences I would never have access to outside of the MBA setting,’ writes Kunaal.

At the other end of her MBA journey, second-year MBA student Divya Chaurasia, shares her thoughts in an article on the value of global learning, community and culture – all the things that she has experienced during her MBA. From the diversity of the classroom cohort to her international exchange programme at HEC Paris, and the cultural moments lived through student club events, Laidlaw scholar Divya has expanded her worldview, boosted her confidence and gained a true sense of belonging. In her own words:

‘I didn’t just want an MBA. I wanted a passport to the world. I wanted to immerse myself in cultures, build global friendships, work on meaningful challenges, and develop the kind of empathy that no classroom alone can teach.’
