LBS PhD candidates recognised

London Business School (LBS) PhD candidate in Economics Natalie Rickard has won the 2023 Professor Sir James Ball PhD Prize.
The award recognises Natalie’s outstanding performance throughout her PhD programme and the potential impact of her research. Her work investigates the intersection of climate change and household heterogeneity, with a particular focus on the uneven consequences of mitigation and adaptation policies, and their impact on income and consumption inequality.
The PhD Prize pays tribute to late School Principal (Dean) Professor Sir James Ball, who led LBS from 1972-1984, and was established following a generous £2 million gift by his widow, Lady Ball.
The 2023 Cecilia Reyes Award has been awarded to Martina Andreani, PhD candidate in Accounting, Oksana Smirnova, PhD candidate in Finance, and Sicong (Allen) Li, PhD candidate in Management Science and Operations.
The recipients were recognised for excellence in their respective PhD programmes and the potential impact of their research.
The Cecilia Reyes Award was first awarded in 2022 and made possible through a significant gift by an LBS PhD alumna.
