LBS MiF programme comes top in FT international rankings

LBS number one in 2017 FT Masters in Finance post-experience programme rankings

London Business School’s (LBS) Masters in Finance (MiF) has been ranked the world's number one post-experience programme by the Financial Times (FT).

The School has taken the top spot in the FT’s ranking on six occasions in the past seven years.

The FT surveys alumni who have been in the workplace for three years since graduation. Of those surveyed, LBS alumni recorded the highest post-graduation salary: US$167,154 (£130,751). LBS’s MiF was also ranked number one for post-programme employment.

Professor Sir Andrew Likierman, Dean at LBS said: “Our Masters in Finance programme benefits from our world-class faculty and student community, combined with important research and close links to the financial community. Our location in the heart of London is also a tremendous draw for our students.”

On the measures of diversity, 95% of students are from outside the UK, and faculty members come from 31 countries. The School was awarded first place for the ‘international course experience’ category, showcasing the global nature of the programme.

LBS’s 2017 full-time MiF class comprises 107 students representing 42 nationalities. Students on the programme on average have six years’ work experience.

Some of the world’s leading finance academics, such as Professors Suleyman Basak, Julian Franks and Francesca Cornelli, as well as consultants to financial institutions, industry and government, teach students on the programme.

Gareth Howells, Executive Director, MiF, MBA and Early Career programmes at LBS, said: “Our MiF programme continues to demonstrate our ability to deliver exceptional employment opportunities for experienced finance professionals. While delighted with this record, we have also further invested in our career services provision for students in the past year.

“This latest top-tier ranking reflects the exceptional standard of our teaching and we are proud of the strong links we hold with financial institutions, recruiters and practitioners worldwide.”
