LBS MBA students among the Best & Brightest for 2022

Hats 1140 by 346

James Cochrane-Dyet MBA2022 and Naveen Kler MBA2022 are among this year’s Poets & Quants ‘Best & Brightest’, following in a long line of LBS students who have been selected for this honour.

James, described as an “entrepreneur, service-leader, adventurer, people-person” who is “pursuing new ways to deliver enduring impact and purpose”, served in the British Army for seven years and is now a military reservist. During his time in the army, he led servicemen and women in a variety of roles from combat reconnaissance to military intelligence and also commanded a division of ninety horse-mounted ceremonial guards on Queen Elizabeth II’s birthday parade. He also led a Turner MIINT impact investment team to compete in the world’s largest impact investing competition and cites leading a project with the UK’s National Health Service to prepare for the impact of COVID-19 as the proudest moment in his professional career to date. James has recently co-founded a new start-up that helps non-profits launch and manage philanthropic campaigns using blockchain technologies.

Naveen is described as “a strong British Indian woman with lots of gumption, passion and energy to have an impact’ and is one of the first recipients of the Laidlaw Women’s Leadership Scholarship at LBS. She has made an impact in the community by enhancing the ambitions, opportunities and safe spaces for women at LBS through her leadership roles in the Women in Business Club and the School’s Diversity, Inclusion and Belonging Committee. Her proudest professional achievement to date was leading on negotiations with the UK government to launch the world’s first development impact bond in adolescent sexual and reproductive health – a bond which funded access to safe contraception and sexual health services for 300,000 girls and women in Kenya in the height of the pandemic. Naveen is set to join the McKinsey & Co London office after her MBA and will continue her passion for equality and empowerment through a not-for-profit board seat.
