LBS Elroy Dimson honoured with finance award
Elroy Dimson, Leverhulme Emeritus Fellow and Professor of Finance at London Business School, has received one of the world's top prizes for finance at a conference in Chicago.
Elroy Dimson, Leverhulme Emeritus Fellow and Professor of Finance at London Business School, has received one of the world's top prizes for finance at a conference in Chicago.
Professor Dimson, who is also chairman of the Strategy Council for the Norwegian Government Pension Fund, was presented with the 2012 James R Vertin Award by the CFA Institute at the group's 65th annual conference.
The CFA Institute, a global association of investment professionals, recognised Prof Dimson for his overall contribution to the industry, alongside two other award recipients.
Speaking at the presentation, CFA Institute president and CEO John Rogers said: "Each of these individuals exemplifies what our global community of investment professionals strives to create: an investment industry that serves the greater good and promotes transparency and a thirst for knowledge.
"We congratulate them and thank them for their ground-breaking work, leadership and commitment to advancing our profession."
The James R. Vertin Award is presented periodically to recognise individuals who have produced a body of research notable for its relevance and enduring value to investment professionals.
