LBS Dean appointed Director of Times Newspapers Holding Ltd
Sir Andrew will serve a five-year term as one of six Independent National Directors whose role is to safeguard the independence of the titles. He will also act as a “conventional” director of the company, which owns The Times and The Sunday Times.
Professor Likierman was the Founding Director of the Executive MBA programme at London Business School and has been a professor at the School for many years, lecturing on all the major executive and degree programmes. His research interests are in the field of performance measurement.
His career has spanned work in the public and private sectors, as well as in professional life. As an executive, Andrew has run a textile plant in Germany and in the UK Treasury, was a Managing Director and Head of the UK Government Accountancy Service.
His previous non-executive posts include Chairman of the National Audit Office, of the Economists’ Bookshop Group and of the market research firm MORI. He has also been a non-executive Director of the Bank of England, Barclays Bank Plc, and is a Past President of the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants.
