LBS fourth in 2018 Times Higher Education subject ranking

The School lands top-four spot in the business and economics subject ranking

THE ranking 482x271

London Business School (LBS) has been ranked fourth out of 200 universities in the 2018 Times Higher Education’s (THE) business and economics ranking – the first time the School has claimed a top-four position.

Phil Baty, Editorial Director of Global Rankings at THE, said: “LBS is truly one of the world’s top institutions for business and economics.”

The ranking is based on an institute’s business and economics-related teaching and academic research. The same 13 performance indicators seen in the overall World University Rankings 2018, combined with scores from five categories such as teaching, research and citations, are used to create the subject rankings.

Baty said: “Our business and economics subject ranking judges universities across all of their core missions – teaching, research, knowledge transfer and international outlook.

“This year’s table was the most competitive yet, so it’s a fantastic achievement that LBS has been ranked fourth in this prestigious list.”

This year is the first that institutions not teaching undergraduate degrees have been included in the business and economics subject ranking.
