Kamalini Ramdas named President-Elect of MSOM
Professor of Management Science and Operations to assume presidency in 2019
Kamalini Ramdas, Professor of Management Science and Operations at London Business School (LBS), has been named President-Elect of the Manufacturing and Service Operations Management Society (MSOM).
She will serve as Executive Vice President and President-Elect before taking over the role of MSOM President in 2019.
The organisation is the preeminent society for professionals working in Operations Management. It advocates the enhancement and spread of knowledge associated with the operations function in service and manufacturing ventures.
Professor Ramdas said she was delighted with the appointment.
“I am grateful for this opportunity to serve my colleagues at a time when Operations Management is starting to encompass a wide array of global challenges,” she said.
“I hope that, during my time as President-Elect and later President, I will be able to help our community reap the value of taking an operational lens to problems that have not traditionally been considered as operations, while at the same time bringing fresh outside lenses – such as an innovation perspective – into operations.”
Professor Ramdas holds the Deloitte Chair in Innovation and Entrepreneurship at LBS. Her research currently centres on value creation through innovation and her work has appeared in leading publications such as Harvard Business Review, Management Science, and Manufacturing & Service Operations Management.
The appointment was announced at the MSOM Business Meeting in Dallas, Texas this summer.
