Julian Franks named to Alexander M Knaster Chair

Julian Franks, Professor of Finance at London Business School (LBS), has been appointed to the Alexander M. Knaster Chair.

A generous endowment by LBS Executive Fellow in Strategy and Entrepreneurship Alex Knaster supported the creation of the Chair.

Professor Franks, whose research interests include bankruptcy and financial distress, corporate ownership and control, and corporate regulation, thanked Mr Knaster for his support.

Commenting on his appointment, Julian said: “It is a great honour for me to occupy this chair named after an individual who has a remarkably successful business career and one who is so distinguished in philanthropy.”

Mr Knaster is Chairman and CEO of investment management firm Pamplona Capital Management and is the founder of The Mark Foundation for Cancer Research.
