Inaugural China Business Forum is a success
London Business School's China Club hosted the first ever China Business Forum held in London last weekend, as part of the School's China Week.
The event featured more than 20 distinguished speakers who talked about "Chinese innovation and European opportunities", and was successful in capturing the different aspects of innovation Chinese companies will have to focus on and how Europe will have opportunities to be an active partner.
Sir Andrew Likierman, Dean of the School, spoke of the need for a China Business Forum, highlighting that as Chinese companies continue to expand globally, Europe will play a very important part as an investment and trade partner.
Two keynote speeches included an address by Wang Shi, Chairman of Vanke Co, Ltd, who said that China was very good at mimicking the best globally but warned against the potential downsides to this strength.
Jitesh Gadhia, Senior Managing Director of Blackstone Group and a Sloan alumnus of London Business School, was also present and spoke about how almost a third of all outbound M&A deals from China are with Europe.
