Creativity bottled - 2019 HR Strategy Forum
Creativity is one of the most precious commodities in business and it was one of the leading themes at London Business School’s 2019 HR Strategy Forum alongside collaboration and curiosity.
The invitation-only event held at the Institute of Engineering and Technology last week boasted the leading thinkers in the field including LBS’s Julian Birkinshaw, Herminia Ibarra and Freek Vermeulen among others.
Now in its eighth year, this annual event for LBS’s Executive Education community provides HR, learning and development and strategy leaders with unique insights and practical takeaways - designed to help shape the future of their company and people.
170 attendees from all over the world, including the US, China, Saudi Arabia, the UAE, Europe and the UK kicked off the day with a hands on collaboration challenge before hearing from Professor Birkinshaw, who described how to create and protect an innovative business, before guests went into one of three breakout sessions.
Jules Goddard a contributor to Executive Education led a session on curiosity, Pier Vittorio Mannucci, Assistant Professor of Organisational Behaviour shared the secrets of fostering Creativity and Keyvan Vakili Assistant Professor, Strategy and Entrepreneurship addressed collaboration.
In the afternoon Professor Vermeulen spoke about how to generate and harness organisational energy. Herminia Ibarra concluded the afternoon with a talk on instilling a growth mindset and the shift from “know it alls” to “learn it alls ”.
