Article accolade for Prof Shivakumar
An article written by a London Business School professor has won a prestigious award, thanks to its proven impact since its original publication.
Professor of Accounting Lakshmanan Shivakumar's article 'Earnings quality at initial public offerings', published in the Journal of Accounting and Economics in 2008, has been acknowledged in the Emerald Management Reviews Citations of Excellence Awards for 2012.
The article has been named as one of the top 50 to have had a notable impact since the date it was published. The top 300 management journals worldwide since 2008 were considered.
Emerald Management Reviews is an indexing and abstracting database which covers each article in the top 300 economics, business and management journals globally.
Its titles include: Journal of Marketing; MIT Sloan Management Review; Harvard Business Review; Strategic Management Journal; Academy of Management Journal; Long Range Planning; Journal of Finance; and MIS Quarterly.
Every year, 15,000 article abstracts are added to the database, so, receiving a Citation of Excellence is something of an achievement.
Awards will be presented during the Academy of Management 2012 in Boston at the Emerald Literati Network Reception, which has been organised for editorial board members, authors and editors.
