The Worldwide Alumni Celebration (WAC) is the School’s most significant alumni event, where thousands of former students gather together to celebrate the School’s global community in their respective countries, from Argentina to Australia. The global event has grown from 31 cities in 2005 to over 100 cities this year. This year, events will be taking place for the first time in Monaco and Bermuda.

Sir Andrew Likierman, Dean of London Business School shares “We are delighted to be celebrating the largest ever Worldwide Alumni Celebration of London Business School.  It is a truly global event for our over 35,000 alumni with celebrations taking place in over a 100 cities in the world, including many where faculty share their latest research.”

Events range from a beach day in Doha, curling in Melbourne, to a hot air balloon ride in Bucharest, and talks from faculty and other special guests. London Business School faculty will be talking about their research at 13 of the events overseas.

This year’s WAC in London is hosted by Professor Sir Andrew Likierman, Dean of London Business School, who will be joined by a group of panellists to discuss the event’s theme, ‘A crisis of trust in the financial system’.  Panellists include Julian Franks, Professor of Finance; Nigel Nicholson, Professor of Organisational Behaviour; Paul Coombes, Chairman of the Centre for Corporate Governance, all at London Business School; Mark Dawson, Partner, PwC; Lord Paul Myners CBE, former Financial Services Secretary, HM Treasury and David Pitt-Watson, Chair of Hermes Focus Asset Management.

Meredith Pierce Hunter, Director of Alumni Relations and Annual Giving said “Today officially marks the 8th annual Worldwide Alumni Celebration, the largest event for alumni around the world, and we are pleased to have over 100 cities participating in the celebrations, a record for the School. We hope no matter where in the world LBS alumni are on the 27th they are able to find a city nearby to gather with other alumni.”

Last year’s Worldwide Alumni Celebration won Silver in ‘Alumni Relations Programs’ category of this year’s Council for Advancement and Support of Education Circle of Excellence Awards .
