Professor of Finance recognised for contribution to field of people strategy by HR magazine

London Business School’s Alex Edmans has been named a leading thinker in the field of people strategy by HR magazine.
The Professor of Finance was ranked fourth in the ‘Thinkers’ category of the publication’s annual HR Most Influential list.
Professor Edmans is an expert in corporate finance, responsible business and behavioural finance, and is the author of several books, including Grow the Pie: How Great Companies Deliver Both Purpose and Profit and May Contain Lies: How Stories, Statistics, and Studies Exploit Our Biases – And What We Can Do About It.
He said his was particularly grateful for the recognition, which he said spoke to the interconnectedness of finance and people management, and the multidisciplinary nature of his work.
“Finance and HR are typically seen as separate disciplines within academia, and separate departments within companies,” Professor Edmans said.
“But HR issues are finance issues - human capital is most firms' greatest asset, and investing in your people is often the most positive-NPV investment that a company can make.”
