My greatest challenge when I applied to business school: Balancing working full time and the LBS application process.
About me: I’m a first-generation graduate with Nigerian roots, having spent my formative years in Lagos before growing up in South London. Much of my journey has been about breaking barriers and widening access: being visible in rooms where people like me are still rare and helping to make sure we’re not the last.
Before LBS, I worked in EY’s CFO advisory team on finance-transformation projects for global financial institutions. I also interned at Cerberus Capital Management in private equity.
My greatest strength is versatility, with varying interests ranging from playing the keyboard, honing my queen’s gambit on a chessboard, marshalling the midfield on the football pitch, capturing memories with my camera, or experimenting in the kitchen. That range keeps me curious, creative and comfortable with people from every background.
Creatively, I’m developing African Rhetorics Retold, a film/photography series celebrating untold everyday African stories of heritage, resilience and joy.
Long term, I want to focus on emerging markets, specifically helping build institutions and companies that lift living standards and provide opportunities on par with the developed world, which LBS is helping me to realise as a Black in Business scholar.
I’m always happy to chat about funding, settling into London or balancing studies with recruiting.
Three topics I can be approached about: Application process; GMAT preparation; careers in consulting.
