About me: Omar graduated with magna cum laude from The American University in Cairo, majoring in Business Administration and minoring in Economics. Upon graduation, Omar started his professional career in investment banking at HC Securities & Investment, a full-fledged investment bank covering the MENA region. He then made a pivot to private equity in a newly founded department at HC Securities & Investment, focusing on the real estate sector.
Prior to starting his Masters in Finance at LBS, Omar was working as an associate in the investment team at SPE Capital, a pan-African private equity firm with AUM totalling over US$500 million. There, he assisted the investment team, conducting due diligence on several investment opportunities, and played a key role in closing a deal in the NBFI sector, while monitoring the Egyptian portfolio to deliver on the value creation plan.
Omar passed his CFA level 1, ranking amongst the top ten percentile, and is a Merit Scholarship recipient. He is fluent in Arabic and English, with full professional proficiency in French.
Outside of the classroom, Omar enjoys strumming his electric guitar, reading about financial marketing, travelling to new places and eating.
