My greatest challenge when I applied to business school was: Writing the application essays.
About me: I grew up in Germany and completed my undergraduate degree in Business Administration at the University of Mannheim. Due to COVID, my semester abroad was replaced by an intense semester focusing on data science and analytics. During that time, I developed my passion for the intersection between business and analytics.
After graduating, I participated in a strategy-focused gap year programme that consisted of internships at Bain & Company, FC Bayern Munchen, Deutsche Telekom and Audi. Fortunately, I was able to explore my newly found interest in data science by participating in various analytics-driven projects across a broad range of industries. For example, I used Alteryx to analyse client data and predicted customer segments based on CRM data.
Having had a first glimpse into the fascinating world of analytics, I decided to join the Masters in Analytics and Management programme to develop my coding skills and to get to know people from around the world.
When not attending classes, you can find me playing football with the LBS Football Club or enjoying Asian food at one of the many fantastic restaurants in London.
Three topics I can be approached about: Gap year planning; transitioning from business to analytics; the application process.
