My greatest challenge when I applied to business school: Balancing a demanding physics course load with extracurricular commitments while applying.
About me: I grew up in Chennai, India, and moved to London to pursue my undergraduate degree in Physics at Imperial College. While my academic focus was on quantum optics and applied mathematics, I became increasingly drawn to finance, fascinated by how analytical thinking, strategic decision making and market dynamics intersect.
During my undergraduate studies, I gained exposure to financial services through internships in investment research, investment banking and private equity, where I worked on projects involving valuation, due diligence and market analysis. These experiences broadened my perspective on the industry and confirmed my ambition to build a long-term career in financial services, with the goal of helping businesses unlock growth and deliver sustainable value.
Beyond academics, I’m passionate about sport and community. I play squash competitively and served as treasurer of Imperial’s Squash Society. I also enjoy football, ultimate frisbee and DIY projects, which have been great ways to connect with people
from diverse backgrounds. At LBS, I look forward to combining these passions with the School’s collaborative spirit, making it the ideal platform to pursue rigorous finance training within a truly global community.
Three topics I can be approached about: Life at LBS; transitioning into finance from a STEM background; balancing academics with extracurriculars.
