My greatest challenge when I applied to business school: Crafting a unique story about my career ambitions in the financial services industry.
About me: Born and raised in Berlin, I grew up moving between languages and cultures, attending a British school in the city while speaking German and Russian at home. Before finance, my life revolved around tennis: I competed nationally through my youth, reaching Germany’s top 64 and winning the Berlin championship several times. That discipline carried into my studies, and I graduated from the University of Warwick in 2026 with a first-class honours in economics.
My route into investment banking was gradual rather than direct. I started in corporate banking at Berliner Volksbank, then moved into M&A at a boutique firm called Shawpoint. This in turn led me to do a summer in metals and mining at Scotiabank. These experiences have reinforced my desire to work in investment banking, due to the combination of soft and technical skills one develops and the steep learning curve one embarks on.
I chose London Business School for the people, the proximity to the financial services market and to convert a broad foundation into a career in investment banking in London.
Outside work, I am an avid marathon runner and tennis player, both of which have helped me become a more dedicated and disciplined student and analyst.
Three topics I can be approached about: London Business School application advice; investment banking application advice; student clubs.
