Katerina Rousarova (she/her)

Education: Bachelors, University College London, UK; graduated in 2025

Subject: Physics

Sector(s) of interest: Investment Banking, Private Equity, Strategy Consulting

My greatest challenge when I applied to business school: Managing the application process together with the final year of my undergraduate degree, internship applications and hobbies outside of that.

About me: Before joining LBS, I studied Physics at UCL, drawn by the challenge of the degree, the analytical fluency it would give me and the flexibility it offered for future career paths. After an internship in High Energy Physics at Imperial College London, I realised pursuing physics professionally wasn’t for me.

I gained experience in both investment banking and management consulting, completing internships at Barclays in M&A and at Boston Consulting Group, where I worked on private equity due diligence and corporate strategy projects. These experiences reinforced my interest in high-intensity, problem-solving environments and motivated me to pursue a career in finance – and to apply for the MFA programme at LBS.

Outside of academics and internships, I have led societies (president of the Physics Society, co- founder of UCL Women in STEM, Treasurer of the Czech and Slovak Society), volunteered as a mentor and tutor, and represented UCL in volleyball. I also enjoy long-distance running, cooking and going to operas and musicals.

At LBS, I am excited to broaden my perspective and network while preparing for a long-term career in finance. As a student ambassador, I hope to help others explore whether this path is right for them – just as I found it to be for me.

Three topics I can be approached about: LBS application; investment banking and McKinsey & Company, Boston Consulting Group and Bain & Company internship applications; studying in London.
