My greatest challenge when I applied to business school: Balancing academics, work experience and personal interests, as business schools want a well-rounded candidate.
About me: Originally from Taiwan, I spent my undergraduate degree studying in Hong Kong and did a semester exchange at LMU in Munich. These experiences provided me with an international mindset and the passion to make friends with people around the world.
My internship experience is diverse and includes capital markets, corporate treasury and buy-side venture capital funds. Through trial and error and hands-on experience, I gradually found my interest in pursuing a sales-oriented role and narrowed that down to corporate banking and private banking. This summer, I completed a corporate banking internship at a bulge bracket bank.
I have fallen in love with London – it is an incredible place to be. Initially, I thought I would only thrive in Asian cities, but was quickly caught up in the vibrant and diverse atmosphere of London. I enjoy taking a walk in the city and randomly going to different bazaars, markets, antique shops, cafés, museums or parks. London contains so many interesting places and moments and I am excited to explore the city further.
Three topics I can be approached about: Banking recruitment; life as an international student; applying to LBS from Hong Kong or Taiwan.
