“Before joining the Masters in Management (MiM) programme I completed a degree in French and economics at Gettysburg College, USA. However, I felt like I needed a more business-focused experience to give me the practical skills that I could use once in the corporate world.”

“Having decided that a MiM was the best option given my relatively limited work experience, London Business School was an easy choice. The School has an excellent reputation worldwide and the MiM offers a curriculum which is very hands-on and goes far beyond academic knowledge. Everything about the MiM relates directly to the business world. Core courses such as The Global Macroeconomy focus on current world economic issues and the practical implications of real data.”

“I was soon able to put my learning into practice during Business Immersion Week, which is organised by the Programme Office in the first term of the MiM. The week harnesses the School’s close connections to the City of London and allowed us to visit a range of companies, learn first-hand how they operate and ask sound questions about the sort of challenges they face. Visiting a successful fashion start-up run by two LBS alumni was a particular highlight for me.”

“Outside of the classroom, I really enjoyed interacting with fellow students, not just on the MiM but from across all the programmes offered at LBS. The student clubs in particular opened up networks for me that span numerous industries and countries. I was the Finance Vice President of the Women in Business Club and worked with the committee to welcome Cherie Blair onto campus. It’s fantastic to hear first-hand from individuals who have already made their impact in the business world.”

“Looking beyond the MiM, Career Services did a great job of ensuring that when you do get that interview, you are well prepared and equipped with the tools to succeed. Throughout the year I also made use of the career development programmes run by student clubs, to sharpen my interview technique and make sure my CV stood out from the pile.”
