My greatest challenge when I applied to business school: Adapting my mindset due to pursuing a non-business background.
About me: LBS represents a significant shift in my education and early career, as I recently completed an undergraduate degree in Music from the University of Oxford.
After three years pursuing my artistic passion, I realised that my most fulfilling experiences stemmed from forming strong relationships, meeting new faces from diverse backgrounds and achieving great projects together.
At university, I had the opportunity to be a music director for a student-produced musical, the music chair of Pembroke College’s student committee and a co-leader of a student jazz band. These human experiences inspired me to broaden my career horizons, which I explored by joining the Oxford Strategy Group as a consultant, before applying to business schools to develop my business acumen.
I chose LBS for its unique combination of three principles I align with: academic excellence; an international and diverse student body; and a fast-paced programme offering hands-on professional experience. I was particularly pleased by the variety of backgrounds in the MiM programme, thanks to applicants being evaluated on their holistic character instead of arbitrary metrics.
Outside of my studies, I am a part-time maths tutor, a football and tennis fan, and I continue making and playing music. Feel free to contact me with any questions!
Three topics I can be approached about: Interview stress; CV advice; non-business background.
