Al Nameera Meghjani

Education: Bachelors, University of Waterloo, Canada; graduated in 2021

Topic(s) studied: Biology and Business

Interested in: Healthtech entrepreneurship, product management, venture capital

My greatest challenge when I applied to business school was: I did not know if I had the ’right‘ profile for business school

About me: I grew up in different places which helped me understand what it means to be a global citizen. I was born in Hyderabad, India and then moved around between London (UK), Toronto (Canada) and Hyderabad (India) for the next 21 years. I did my undergraduate degree in Biology at the University of Waterloo in Canada. During my degree I had four co-op/internship terms. I have worked as a product manager at BlackBerry Messenger, marketing manager at Showfloor (startup), genetic counselling assistant at Princess Margaret Cancer Centre and product owner at President's Choice Insurance. My experiences led me to understand the impact I wanted to have with my career and brought me to LBS to get the right skills and network to get there. Before I came to LBS, I was worried that I would not fit in because of my life science background or the fact that I have multiple nationalities. But LBS has become home in such a short span of time. Everyone around me comes from such diverse backgrounds. At LBS, you are truly learning from your peers. LBS is really about the people, and I cannot wait to continue to meet more such amazing people.

Three topics I can be approached about: Transition to LBS from life sciences; healthtech and healthcare (cancer genetics); product management
