Lucrezia Reichlin

Professor Lucrezia Reichlin is a macroeconomist and econometrician. Her current research focuses on econometric modelling and forecasting, monetary policy, banking and finance, and general macroeconomics. She has pioneered innovative methods for analysing high-dimensional datasets and real-time economic monitoring, and co-founded Now-Casting Economics Limited in 2011 to apply these methodologies to contemporary economic challenges.

Lucrezia is a fellow of the Bruegel think-tank, a member of the French National Productivity Council, a board member of the euro-50, a distinguished fellow and member of the advisory board of the Centre for European Policy Research.

From 2005 to 2008 she was Director General of Research at the European Central Bank. She has been board member of several financial institutions including UniCredit, Morgan Stanley International, Ageas SA/NV, a consultant for several central banks, including the US Federal Reserve and a trustee of the International Reporting Standard Foundation.

She is a Fellow of the Econometric Society, a Fellow of the British Academy, an Honorary Fellow of the American Economic Association, a Fellow of the European Economic Association and of the Academia Europaea, a Founding Fellow of the Applied Econometrics Association, and a foreign member of the Académie des Sciences Morales et Politiques in France. She is also the founder of the Ortygia Foundation, a non-profit organisation committed to supporting female education in southern Italy. She is a regular contributor of Project Syndicate and the Italian daily il Corriere della Sera.
