Dr. Minseo Baek's research examines how social backgrounds shape people's approaches to and experiences in navigating careers, focusing on their implications for inequality and human resource management. She uses both qualitative and quantitative methods to investigate these questions, primarily among highly skilled professionals. Her research interests encompass careers, culture, and inequality, exploring how individual backgrounds and organisational contexts intersect to influence career trajectories and workplace outcomes.
Dr. Baek brings a unique combination of academic rigour and practical business experience to her teaching and research. Her entrepreneurial background provides valuable insights into the real-world applications of organisational behaviour theories and career development strategies.
She holds a BA from Korea University, an MSc from the University of Oxford, and a PhD in Management from The Wharton School. Prior to joining London Business School, she co-founded and served as Chief Strategy Officer for MyRealTrip, the leading online travel platform in South Korea. This entrepreneurial experience, combined with her academic training, gives her a distinctive perspective on how organisational dynamics and career development intersect in practice.
