Lucy Caines

Dr Lucy Caines' research examines how organisations import and adapt innovations from one context into another. Her work focuses on organisations operating at the intersection of technological and social innovation, such as digital banking for financial inclusion, community-scale renewable energy, sustainable food systems, and  predicting climate-related conflict risks. Through this research, she contributes to understanding how innovation can address complex social and environmental challenges. 

Dr Caines joins London Business School as an Assistant Professor of Strategy and Entrepreneurship from Cambridge Judge Business School, where she completed her doctoral studies. Her academic background is multidisciplinary, spanning history, international relations, and strategy. She holds a BA in History from Trinity College, University of Cambridge, an MA from the Committee on International Relations at the University of Chicago, and an MPhil in Innovation, Strategy & Organisation from Cambridge Judge Business School. 

Prior to joining London Business School, Lucy also worked as a strategy consultant with a focus on public services, charities, and social enterprises, bringing practical experience in applying strategic thinking to mission-driven organisations.
